The November edition of Funeral Director Monthly is packed. Literally bursting at the seams and the cover is one of our most visually arresting. Dia Los Muertos – ‘Day of the Dead’ – is now one of the world’s most instantly recognisable festivals and in the November edition we dive into its origins in Aztec lore, its traditions and – especially its colour.
The festival is getting a particularly high global profile this week as it forms the backdrop to the opening sequence of the new Bond film, Spectre’. This behind the scenes film takes a look at how they recreated Dia Los Muertos for the cameras – with 800 extras!
Also in the November edition is a major feature on the return of funeral costs and funeral poverty to the headlines – as well as developments in the NAFD’s long running Social Fund campaign. We review Todd Van Beck’s book Reverence for the Dead and, as well as the usual supplier and member news, there’s a feature showcasing how NAFD qualifications can help boost business performance and how to prepare your funeral business for winter.
